ASCAN 2000™
Full Length Ultrasonic Pipe Inspection System
(FLUT)
 |
THE ASCAN 2000™
is designed to meet the
most stringent industry requirements for the
full-body ultrasonic
inspection of both new
and used API drill-pipe,
tubing and casing, as
well as heavy-wall
landing strings.
The
ASCAN 2000™
incorporates the latest
in high-speed ultrasonic
technology and utilizes
a fully-computerized
data-acquisition system.
• Computerized
Electronics System
provides unequalled
accuracy and advanced technology
• Large size capacity
2-3/8" to 13-3/8"
Range
2 or 3 lengths*
• UT scanning heads
with adjustable
transducer angles

Unique aspects of the ASCAN
2000™:
-
Fully adjustable transducer
position-this feature (patent
pending) allows the operator to
not only configure a sensor for
ANY orientation of flaw
(shear-wave or compression-wave-longitudinal,
transverse, oblique, wall loss),
but also to optimize each and
every sensor to the reference
notch
-
Available
rotator and gantry extension
allow for the inspection of
range III length tubulars
-
TRUE
IMMERSION-The automated scanner
that houses the transducers is designated to allow for a
straight-through transmission of
sound into the pipe wall. There
are no other interfaces in
between. This is a great
enhancement over the older style
systems in the past that used
wedges to pass sound into the
tube wall thus creating multiple
interfaces and attenuation
problems to be dealt with.
-
Software
incorporates "reverse logic" and
is easily upgradeable to meet enduser demands. Many new
features are included (ie: high/low/average wall thickness
capture (in real-time) DIGITALLY
for each joint, ID/OD
discrimination, etc.) and all
software is run on a standard PC
in a Windows software
environment
-
A wide
array of PLC controlled pipe
handling options customized for
each customer's unique
requirements are available.
-
Static or
Dynamic calibrations are easily
performed!
-
Color-coded
channel distinction-for optimal
contrast and color 3rd party or customer report generation.
-
Variable-speed tube rotation and
trolley speed
-
Hi-Torque
pipe rotation (for drill collars and
solid stock)
-
Versatile
application. System will inspect
drill pipe, landing strings,
tubing and casing
-
PRECISE
FLAW LOCATION-Operator has
ability to mark exact location
on tube to minimize prove-up to
minute area
-
Inspection
presentation and report format
is designed to meet or exceed
all industry standards including
T H Hill DS-1 3rd Edition
-
Affordable
price with maximum performance
